Bill Murray Is Down With ‘Ember’

Bill Murray is set to star in the Walden Media film adaptation of City of Ember.  It’s being helmed by director Gil Kenan, written by Caroline Thompson, and produced by Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman of Playtone.
The young adult novel, written by Jeanne DuPrau, it’s adapted from is about the city of Ember, where it’s always night time.

The plot summary from IMDB: “This film takes place in a town completely surrounded by darkness…: the only light and heat coming from an aging power plant driven by a massive underground river. Time is running out, as the city’s infrastructure begins to break down, and the town is repeatedly thrown into utter blackness. Ember’s unlikely savior may very well be a young girl (Lina) who, along with her best friend (Doon), find clues which may show the way out and save them all…”
