Aardman’s New Projects

chickenrun.gifAardman Animation has announced upcoming movie projects.  The list includes:

  • The Cat Burglars a comedy action caper billed as “family-friendly Tarantino,” combining the cool of “Ocean’s Eleven” with the comedy action of “Wallace and Gromit.”
  • “Borat” writer Peter Baynham is working on Operation Rudolph, in which Santa runs the North Pole as some sort of high-tech military operation.
  • Aardman Co-founder Peter Lord will return to direct for the first time since “Chicken Run,” with “Pirates,” a comedy adventure based on two books by writer Gideon Defoe.
  • Nick Park, famous for creating the Wallace and Gromit characters, is working on a yet to be identified project that has nothing to do with W&G.

I’m a big fan of the stop-motion animation style, so I’m glad th gang at Aardman is getting back in the game now that they’re partnered up with Sony for the next three years.
